The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by NCTE.
  • Paper-I: This paper is for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes I to V.
  • Paper-II: This paper is for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes VI to VIII.
  • Both Papers: Candidates who wish to teach both Primary and Upper Primary classes must appear in both papers.
Note: Eligibility will be as per NCTE guidelines.

Educational Qualification

Paper-I (Classes I to V) Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and should have passed or appearing in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC) or equivalent qualification recognized by NCTE.
Paper-II (Classes VI to VIII) Candidates should have Graduation Degree and passed or appearing in B.Ed / D.El.Ed or equivalent teacher training course recognized by NCTE.
