🩺 NEET UG – Information for Students
🔹NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) is one of the most important medical entrance examinations in India. Through this single exam, students get admission into MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and other medical and paramedical undergraduate courses across the country. The exam is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
🔹The total marks for NEET UG are 720. For every correct answer, +4 marks are awarded, while −1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer (negative marking). No marks are given or deducted for unanswered questions. Because of negative marking, students are advised to attempt questions carefully and avoid blind guessing.
🔹NEET UG is not just an exam—it is the first major step toward fulfilling the dream of becoming a doctor. Every year, lakhs of students appear for this highly competitive examination, so proper planning and consistent preparation are extremely important. Strong conceptual clarity, thorough study of NCERT textbooks (especially for Biology and Chemistry), and regular practice through mock tests play a key role in success. Physics requires both conceptual understanding and continuous problem-solving practice.
🔹Students who score well in NEET UG can secure seats in government and private medical colleges. The cutoff marks change every year depending on factors like exam difficulty level, number of candidates, and available seats.
🔹In conclusion, success in NEET UG depends on dedication, discipline, and the right strategy. With focused study, proper guidance, and regular revision, any student can perform well in this examination and move closer to a career in medicine.
🔹The NEET UG syllabus is based on Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum and includes three main subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology). All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four options for each question.
